Maruti Suzuki launched Ignis in India

The petrol variant of the vehicle is priced at Rs 4.59 lakhs and the diesel one is of Rs 6.39 Lakhs in ex-showroom Delhi.

The bold look

Maruti Suzuki with Ignis created a design which carries the bold look of an SUV and has the compact profile of a hatchback. The design can be looked upon as an extension of WagonR which was a flagship model of the company.

The superior ground clearance along with a curvy finish adds to the bold look. On the exterior, Ignis has Projector Headlamps with LED DRLs, fog lamps with chrome inserts, dynamic Day Light Opening and all black alloys.

Variants

The car is launched in four manual variants and two AMT variants in both petrol and diesel engine options.

Engine and specs

The car feature 1.2L K-Series petrol engine in its Ignis which have seen on the Baleno and Swift and also the 1.3L diesel engine. The company has also confirmed that both petrol and diesel engine will get the Auto Gear Shift (AGS) variants as well. India won’t get the 1.2 Dual jet engine which is available in many international markets

Dimensions

The length of Ignis is 3700 mm and is about 25 mm longer than the KUV 100. The car’s ground clearance is 180 mm more than KUV’s 170 mm. Having said that its just not the KUV 100 the Ignis will rival too. The car will essentially take on many sub-4-meter cars including the likes of Hyundai Grand i10, Ford Ecosport, Ford Figo hatch.
